Project update – July 2009
Know any copywriters who can write brochures?
We’re joking of course. But it’s the kind of question people used to ask us about web writing. These days of course, writing for digital media is simply the norm. In fact, our jobs list from the past few months shows digital projects outnumbering print by two to one.
So what have we been up to? Well, we’ve recently finished writing over 300 short articles for 1Cover, one of Australia’s leading online travel insurers - plus the Environment Agency’s coastal erosion website, TNT’s corporate site and an intranet for the Department of Health focusing on research techniques. We’ve also written new model copy for citroen.co.uk, home and car insurance info for Swinton Insurance’s site, and helped Russian fertiliser giant Uralkali improve its English language website.
We’ve been refreshing and writing new pages for Vodafone UK’s business website and Philip Morris International’s corporate site, and we’ve just finished the Department for Energy and Climate Change website (a colossal 500+ pages!).
Add in the projects we’re not allowed to talk about, and we reckon we’ve written well over a million words for websites so far this year.
Needless to say, we bear in mind SEO considerations for those sites with search as part of their marketing strategy, and our tried and tested team approach on large projects continues to work well.
We’ve also been busy with a lot of other digital projects. We’ve completed emailers, interactive PDFs, Flash and Powerpoint presentations (including speaker notes), e-newsletters, e-flyers, online articles and ad campaigns for clients as diverse as AXA, Cable & Wireless, ING, London Stock Exchange, Laing O’Rourke, NHS, Toyota and the University of the West of England (UWE).

Of course, writing printed communications is still an important part of what we do. Lately, we’ve written annual reports, press releases, brochures, posters, ad campaigns, letters, packaging copy and data sheets for, amongst others, Aldi, Barclays, Bupa, CBI, Co-operative Travel, Credit Suisse, Everards Brewery, GE Capital, Healthspan, Lloyds TSB, National Portrait Gallery, Nestle, Npower, Panasonic, Post Office, Rowntrees, Royal Mail, Severstal, Spar, Tesco, Thales, Think London, Triodos Bank, UKTI, Unilever, Univadis and Yorkshire Water.
