Project update – March 2005

Tesco
One of retail's real success stories, Tesco is growing its business all over the UK by providing a combination of healthy food, local jobs, 'brownfield' regeneration and mixed use developments (those which also offer housing or community facilities). We write lobbying documents for local councillors, and informative leaflets and exhibitions for the general public and staff, in support of the company's new store programme.
Transport for London
For the 2012 London Olympic bid, the ability of the city's transport system to get the spectators to all the venues for all the events is crucial. We scripted and captioned a detailed video presentation to be shown to the IOC members on their February visit to assess London's suitability for the Games.
Vodafone
We continue to work with many parts of Vodafone. Recent projects include developing environment guidelines, editing a top-level proposal document, and working on a 200-page toolkit for their HR departments.
Rolls Royce
Rolls Royce was keen to move away from their standard brochure outlining the different colours and trims for their cars. We helped develop copy that captures the history and exclusivity of the brand.
McDonald’s
As part of its strategy to appeal to a more health-conscious market, McDonald's now includes ‘wellness’ messages on its Happy Meals packs. We develop these for the European market. The copy needs to appeal to 6-9 year olds, and tie in with the particular celebrity or film being featured.
Post Office
As the Post Office goes through a period of significant change, internal communications are crucial for motivation and sharing knowledge about new products and services. We write all the articles for Focus, a monthly magazine aimed at people who work in branches nationwide.
American Airlines
We've helped American Airlines launch their new daily transatlantic flights from Ireland to the US. We developed copy for DM campaigns and flyers aimed at travel agents and business and consumer audiences.
Avis
One of the world's leading car rental companies needed help restructuring and rewriting their entire UK intranet. We 'plain-Englished' over 200 pages of content to make it more engaging, simpler to read and easier to understand.
Nelson Thornes
We helped this leading educational publisher create The Little Book of Blended Learning and associated conference publicity material, all designed to position the company at the forefront of a contemporary educational concept.
University of the West of England (UWE)
UWE wants to keep in touch with recent alumni in an engaging way, so we’re helping them develop e-newsletters aimed at different faculties. As well as all the usual uni news, there’s a friends-reunited-inspired ‘where are they now?’ section.
Quaker Seasons
We wrote the back-of-pack descriptive copy for this new adult snack range.
NFU Mutual
Traditionally associated with the farming industry, NFU Mutual is working to broaden its appeal in the financial services marketplace. We developed their new corporate brochure and five secondary brochures, aimed at different customer groups.
