Project update – June 2006
Here’s another Writers update, to let you know what we’ve been up to recently.
The financial services sector continues to keep us busy. In the insurance arena, we’ve completed more projects for AXA and Hiscox, including direct mail, newsletter articles and brochures. Coutts briefed us on their property services brochure and offshore banking website, and we’ve written the annual report for Credit Suisse Group.
As confidence in pensions becomes more shaky, many businesses are outsourcing financial advice for their staff. Clarity is a leading IFA in this area, and we’ve written their new sales literature. We’ve also worked on the HBOS website, and helped develop an interactive presentation for Schroders Private Equity Services.
UK households now spend nearly as much on recreation and culture as they do on their cars and public transport – this may explain the growth in leisure and lifestyle work now coming our way. Projects include brochure and web copy for two luxurious destinations: Park Hall Health Club & Spa, and Youlston Park, a prestigious Devon country house offering exclusive party weekends. And for those venturing further afield, we’ve developed ad concepts for Nota Bene, a travel publication that details not only where to stay and eat, but which room to book and the best table to reserve.
We’ve also written a magazine aimed at anglers in the Thames Valley, for the Environment Agency, and our work on visitor attractions has continued with the Cambrian Visitor Centre, which focuses on the history of rail in the Welsh Borders.
Education is another buoyant area – for example, we’ve just finished a range of direct mail, literature and web projects for awarding body OCR. And public sector work is also still very important to us, particularly as we’re now on the COI roster.
Other big names we’ve worked for recently include Cable & Wireless (a 40-page staff handbook) and BP (a brochure on group security).
And we’ve reached a milestone: our 200th project for Vodafone. Over the last few years, we’ve worked with them through ten different agencies, as well as directly with Vodafone Global. Congratulations to us!
(Speaking of congratulations, a quick ‘well done’ to all the winners at the Design Week Awards – we sponsored the annual reports category this year.)
